Arias has completed many commercial projects by successfully recommending and implementing sound, cost-effective solutions for unfavorable site conditions.
San Antonio has often been referred to as “Military City U.S.A.” because of the numerous bases and large active-duty population located here. As such, Arias has extensive military experience at Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, Fort Sam Houston, Camp Bullis, and the Former Brooks City Base and Kelly Air Force Base. In addition, Arias has successfully completed numerous projects at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio and The Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. Military projects typically present very strict design and construction tolerances and significant observation/monitoring by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) during construction. Arias is accredited by the USACE and has successfully worked with USACE Inspectors and Engineers, as well as Design and Construction Teams in the delivery of a significant number of military projects.
Industrial developments such as oil and gas facilities, power plants, pipelines, storage tanks, petrochemical facilities, fabricating plants, quarries, batch plants, grain elevators, manufacturing plants and military installations are frequently subject to a variety of regulations and standards in order to help enable efficient, safe, reliable, clean operations. The number of these types of developments has increased significantly in recent years with the exploration and drilling of the Eagle Ford Shale Play across South Central Texas. Arias has been actively involved in this market and has extensive project experience working for industrial clients with tight schedules and deadlines while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance as they relate to our services.
Transportation projects including highways, bridges, airports, rail, and marine and docking facilities generally require a very detailed, organized, and highly technical approach. These types of projects also typically necessitate extensive coordination between the owner, design team and governing entities/agencies. Arias has long been a leader in the transportation market sector by providing highly competent, reliable, professional services, while overcoming the challenges typically associated with these projects.
Water and wastewater projects such as utilities, lift stations, dams, reservoirs, treatment plants, and aquifer storage are critical components of societal infrastructure that improve the quality of life for all. Most people don’t often see or think about such infrastructure unless a problem or an interruption in service occurs. As such, having a reliable, long-term, low maintenance infrastructure system is essential for societal and economic growth. Arias has successfully completed a significant number of water and wastewater projects, working closely with public agencies and government entities to review and address comments, concerns and questions in order to provide on-time, dependable services.
In 2011, Arias began seeking options for streamlining and automating the processes underlying field observation, field data collection, quality control, digital signatures, report distribution and data visualization; including appropriate integration with our existing in-house developed Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and CORE database application.
Our research resulted in choosing an Industry Vertical Software Framework (MetaField™) developed by Agile Frameworks. MetaField™ is a web-based field information management system which includes field data collection; quality control for review and report generation; and delivery to manage consolidation, distribution, and dissemination of final reports.
MetaField™ and CorePort™ are two separate programs. MetaField™ is the utility for collecting the data in the field, reviewing it in the office, and generating reports. CorePort™ is a brandable and customizable site that can be used as a distribution tool for reports as well as a report organizational/archival tool. Though we use MetaField™ for all of our Construction Materials Testing projects, CorePort™ is offered as a client option in lieu of the standard email delivery.
