Arias provided Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of the new 1.5 million square feet Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas. The all-under-one-roof experience includes a 12-story hotel with 975 rooms including 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites, Presidential Suites, world-class dining at five signature restaurants including steakhouse, Italian and Tex-Mex, luxurious spa, live entertainment areas, 10,000 square feet of diverse shopping experiences, a thrilling indoor theme park, indoor and outdoor water park, and a state-of-the-art convention center. The Round Rock resort is Kalahari’s fourth property and the brand’s first foray into Texas and the Southwest market.
America’s Largest Indoor Water Park
The Round Rock Kalahari is home to the country’s largest indoor water park with 223,000 SF of wet-and-wild fun that includes 30 waterslides, 20 pools and whirlpools, in addition to outdoor pools that span over 3 acres. Attractions include: FlowRider surf simulator, adult grotto swim-up bar, cabanas and waterfalls. ZeroVision Wave Pool Experience — a giant 37-foot LED display screen with surround sound mounted along the wave pool’s back wall gives an unparalleled multimedia experience never before seen in an indoor waterpark. The first-of-its-kind video wall will entertain wave pool guests with interactive video games, trivia and music videos and can be used for private evening dive-in movie experiences.
Tom Foolery's Indoor Theme Park
The indoor theme park called Tom Foolery’s covers more than 80,000 SF of the resort and includes an indoor roller coaster, an indoor zipline, laser tag, mini-golf course, rock climbing wall, a mirror maze, ticket redemption games and a prize store.
Round Rock Convention Center
The Round Rock Convention Center is a partnership with the City of Round Rock and includes 200,000 SF of flexible meeting space for conventions and events. Specifically, 2 ballrooms: 40,000 SF and 22,000 SF, 16 meeting rooms and multiple hospitality suites with flexible space, 50,000 SF of outdoor event space that includes an event barn, covered terraces, lawn and open-air amphitheater.
