Over the last 10 years, Arias has provided Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing services for multiple dormitories, dining halls, and classroom facilities totally 1 million gross square feet at Lackland Air Force Base Airmen Training Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
Dormitory #1 / Dining & Classroom Facility #1
Arias provided Construction Materials Testing services on a four-story Airmen Training Complex (ATC) #1 dormitory facility that houses approximately 1,250 airmen and 15 administrative personnel and a 107,000 SF dining and classroom facility. Construction included a concrete and metal deck elevated slab system supported on drilled piers with cast-in-place concrete columns, precast concrete panels and standing seam metal roof. Our services include testing and observation of drilled piers, soils, concrete, reinforcing steel, post tension, masonry, fireproofing and structural steel.
Dormitory #2
Arias provided Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of the four-story 272,000 SF Airmen Training Complex (ATC) #2 dormitory facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The facility includes reinforced concrete with a mechanical penthouse, single elevator, clad with pre-cast concrete panels, and standing seam metal roof. Our services included testing and observation of the subgrade/fill material, drilled piers, structural concrete, structural mortar/grout, masonry, structural steel, and asphalt.
Dining & Classroom Facility #3
Arias is currently providing Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of the Airmen Training Complex (ATC) Dining Classroom Facility #3, a three-story building for 2,500 trainees in a 106,542 SF area that includes a full-service kitchen on the ground floor and 8 classrooms on each of the upper floors two and three. The project includes a multi-story facility consisting of a drilled pier foundation, concrete floor slabs, structural steel frame, masonry walls, standing seam metal roof, and an elevator. Areas include kitchen, dining areas, and multiple classrooms for the residents of two Airmen Training Complex (ATC) dormitories. Continues the utility and storm drainage infrastructure.
Dormitory #4
Arias provided Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of a four-story, 272,000 SF Airmen Training Complex (ATC) #4 dormitory at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The dormitory consist of reinforced concrete with a mechanical penthouse, single elevator, clad with pre-cast concrete panels, and provided with a standing seam metal roof. Other miscellaneous structures, utilities, and pavement areas.
Dormitory #5
Arias is currently providing Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of five-story 280,563 SF, Airmen Training Complex (ATC) #5 dormitory that will house 1,248 airmen in basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The project includes mechanical equipment on fifth floor, reinforced concrete structure, clad with precast concrete panels, single elevator, and provided with a standing seam metal roof. Additionally, the project will include building information systems, intrusion detection systems, energy monitoring and control systems, fire/smoke detection and alarm systems and connections to installation central systems. Supporting facilities include a free standing Equipment Building and Weapons Cleaning Pavilion, running track, exercise pads, parking lot, AF/FP low security wall with integral street lights, and landscaping/irrigation. Supporting utilities include water, sewer, gas, and electric utilities, exterior communications, site drainage and some rough grading.
Dormitory #6
Arias provided Geotechnical Engineering and is currently providing Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of a new five-story 280,550 SF Airmen Training Complex (ATC) #6 dormitory facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The project will also include a running track, weapons cleaning pavilion, physical training areas, anti-terrorism force protection low security wall, roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior signage.
